▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Compilation Of The Week ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ (Moonshine Records) ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ 'Take some chances. Make some glorious mistakes because ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ it doesn╥t mean anything anyway. Fame and fortune only ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ come when you get rid of the need for it. Never think ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ about that stuff if you really want it.' ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ When veteran party animal/ reformed junky Larry Tee ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ coined the label electroclash as the name for his new ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ electro festival in 2001 he was certainly taking a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ chance, promoting a collection of then largely unknown ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ bands to an equally unenlightened New York audience. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ And 12 months later as ╤trend-setting╥ titles like NME, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ the Face and Mixmag turned on his term with relish, the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ unsuspecting observer might have concluded he╥d made a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ glorious mistake. However, in classical Hollywood ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ fashion, Larry appears perfectly poised to achieve ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ worldwide (club) fame and fortune with his new mix CD ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ 'This is Electroclash╥ being a key stepping stone. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Released by house and techno US label Moonshine, it's a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ double collection clearly intended to introduce the ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ genre to a wider public though is a fantastic ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ collection of the genre's biggest (so far) hits plus ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ seminal dance-floor grooves. On the hit, accessible ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ side, Felix Da Housecat's electro anthem Silver Screen ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ stands out alongside Vitalic's remix of Slam's Visions ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ as does Larry's own Ru Paul smash Supermodel and his ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ remix of New Order's Confusion. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Stepping deeper into the electroclash groove, Hanayo's ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ absolutely fabulous version of Vanessa Paradis╥ Joe Le ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Taxi will delight electroclash clubbers everywhere as ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ will Nag anthems Hate Fuck (Mount Sims) and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Waterlilly's Hysterical Sculpture. Larry's proteges WIT ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ and Tobell Von Cartier (the genius behind Useless) add ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ further depth to a collection that rocks, pumps and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ absolutely delivers on it's simple though appropriate ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ title.s ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ 'This electroclash thing is just beginning,' Larry told ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Skrufff this January. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ 'I am totally optimistic that things are going to be ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ exciting musically.' ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ The Electroclash mix by Larry Tee is out now and is ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ definitive, delightful and delicious. ▌ ▀
