Meeting the three members of Carouge is always a little be :::::::::
like climbing the fences of a power plant, ignoring the :::::::::
"dangerous" signs. Bacada (Vocals), Neele (Vocals) and :::::::::
Michi (Producer) are an energetic combination and you'll :::::::::
never know what happens next. They manage to put a lot of :::::::::
this energy into their music, combined with well tuned :::::::::
melody lines, carefully created soundscapes and quite a :::::::::
touch sex-appeal. :::::::::

Hard to believe that Neele has a degree in law, such an :::::::::
attorney would be a real attraction at court, especially :::::::::
when sheÆd start scatting her parol as sheÆs doing on ôLet :::::::::
Meö. Bacada is all music. Singing since her earliest :::::::::
child hood, she didn't event spent a thought to such :::::::::
unrealistic things like a day-job. Not like Michi. This :::::::::
man is skilled in so many things, that you could hardly :::::::::
believe it's possible to do it all in one live. Producing :::::::::
music for almost 20 years now, he is also a excellent :::::::::
audio engineer, a communication specialist who spent ten :::::::::
years in Africa, programming telephone lines by day, :::::::::
recording African underground bands by night, and a asked :::::::::
for computer wizard. :::::::::

When the three met coincidentally mid of 2001, they :::::::::
immediately ôclickedö and started recording songs. It was :::::::::
just two months later, that head of Vienna's independent :::::::::
music channel FM4, Makossa, selected a track of them for :::::::::
the stations yearly compilation ôSoundselectionö. They :::::::::
didnÆt even had a project name by than. :::::::::

Now, after working together for a year, they are just :::::::::
about to finish their first album, which is due to be :::::::::
released in spring 2003. The first 12" EP with the warm :::::::::
and funky remix from Jonas Quant, the perfect house floor :::::::::
mix from Smoab and his Pepita Project and the tensfull :::::::::
programmed mix from Albanek, ViennaÆs hottest talent in :::::::::
the field of electronic soundscapes, is a good first :::::::::
impression of what is coming up next year. :::::::::

Some say we have grown to a mature group now that we are 2 years :::::.
old. We will keep pumpin out nice electronic music releases like ::::::
we have done for the past 2 years :) So we guess there is nothing ::::::

The artists we deal with are not rock stars. They don't pretend ::::::
to be 'the man'. They're not part of the establishment, the multi- ::::::
million dollar music business. So the only way our scene can stay ::::::
alive is through undying support for the artists and labels. *THIS* ::::::
is the sole reason we release music... ::::::

So for fuck's sake, if you like what your hear, go to your local ::::::
record shop and purchase a copy of your own. It's your duty! Only ::::::
through this process we can all continue to enjoy techno music to ::::::
the fullest. As far as our releases go, if you can get hold of them, ::::::
be happy and treasure them. Don't start posting to public domains ::::::
or sources!! This will eventually result in a more restricted ::::::
distribution of our releases, possibly even only internal... ::::::
