│reeform arkestra is a zurich based producer & dj │
│collective consisting of nico canzoniere (25) │
│and dario de nicola (25), together with various │
│musicians like the first european freejazz saxophone │
│player werner lⁿdi and the amazing doublebass action │
│from derek nievergelt as well as various others they │
│form the freeform arkestra collective. │
│nico & dario started back in the day with dj-ing, │
│running a small illegal & intimate club with poetry-nights, │
│jazz-evenings & various hip hop actions as well as │
│getting involved in the whole science of producing music. │
│ │
│in 1998 they released their first 10" single │
│(limited to 250 copies), on their very own │
│"weltrecord" label with a progressive new sound │
│which they called cifte jazz, │
│by this release they earned much respect by the straight │
│ahead posse which also just had their first release out. │
│after getting together to push the local scene nico and │
│dario contributed each one track for the first │
│"one step ahead" compilation which had great reactions │
│worldwide and introduced acts like freeform arkestra │
│to a wider audience. │
