 ▌ ░ ▐  To say that jazz has shaped Hugh Brown is an understatement. It   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  not only shapes himà it defines him.Hugh Brown is Jazz! The       ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  intricacies, the subtleties, the range of emotion that jazz       ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  elicits, exists within the artist himself.                        ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐                                                                    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Finding jazz, for Hugh, was a revelation. He didnÆt find it       ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  easily or quickly, but rather came to jazz after brief flings     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  and flirtations with many musical genres, from pop, to rock, to   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  classical, to contemporary. And then he found her. That           ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  spirited, sensitive, soulful lady known as Jazz. And the love     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  affair has continued for over                                     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  30 years.                                                         ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐                                                                    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Now, after three decades of playing, recording and composing      ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  jazz, theyÆve become one - the man and his music. All the heart   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  and soul that is so quintessentially jazz lives within Hugh       ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Brown. HughÆs passion colours and defines jazz. Where does jazz   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  stop and the artist begin? Quite simply, it doesnÆt.              ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐                                                                    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  With his classical training and ability to adapt to any genre of  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  music, Hugh has been fortunate to have always made his living as  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  a professional musician. Beginning when he was 15 and playing     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  venus where he was considerably underage, music has been his      ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  profession as well as his passion. Hugh has toured extensively    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  as a guitarist for numerous                                       ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  recognizable names in the Maritime music industry. He was         ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  employed by CBC Radio as a television and radio studio musician   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  for a period of 12 years, and is currently guitarist for Pauline  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Legere.                                                           ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐                                                                    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Hugh took an interest in classical guitar at an early age. The    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  classical technique he acquired for this music afforded him the   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  ability to tackle jazz's more intricate style. Since that time,   ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  he has concentrated extensively on polishing his technique in     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  jazz, and now it shines. With a repertoire of hundreds of         ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  standards committed to memory, 2002 found him fronting the ôHugh  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Brown Trioö which performed three nights per week at BogartÆs in  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Moncton.                                                          ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐                                                                    ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Hugh recently released a CD of original jazz compositions, ôFull  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Circleö, on May 9, 2003. Backing him on this project are the      ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  other three members of the original ôAll Jazz Quartetö, Marty     ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  Melanson, Charlie Goguen and Roland Bourgeois. A 30-year reunion  ▌ ░ ▐
 ▌ ░ ▐  for four young men who became hooked on jazz in the early 70s!    ▌ ░ ▐
