Release Notes:
With a catchy hook and enough 'ooh wahs' to keep a Kaiser Chief happy,
Baddies second single ╢Holler for My Holiday≈ could be the shout-back
indie-punk anthem of the summer. Using vicious down-stroked guitars and
vocals going over the safe speed limit the track could easily be
mistaken for a missing gem from an Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
EP.
Taking the route The Hives should have braved after their first record
'Holler for My Holiday' is anthemic without sounding too mainstream;
keeping itself grounded on the boy's own engineered label, Medical
Records, despite having interest from other more commercial labels.
The London based four piece certainly isn't the kind to hold people up.
Racing in with five loud, dirty guitar strikes in a 1.5 second intro
before speeding wildly into two and half minutes of pure punk
exhilaration. The two guitars compliment whilst also raging angrily at
each other like arguing siblings and the heavy kit and bass combo
drives the track forcefully towards Adicts Avenue and Damned Drive.
What makes the song unique is its shift from production line indie
hits. The track shouts, screams and fights with itself yet still having
a level-headed, tight core.
