▀ ▐ Release Notes: ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Chicken Lips are DJ/producers Andy Meecham and Dean ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Meredith who formed the eclectic house unit back in ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ 1999 after a previous incarnation as Bizarre Inc. who ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ scored three UK Top 10 hits in the early nineties ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ including the seminal 'Playing with Knives'. Chicken ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Lips has since gone on to hone their own unique sound, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ drawing on influences from the early 80Æs NY punk/funk ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ scene and the Paradise Garage. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ They now keep themselves busy with their work for ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Kingsize Records as well as remix duties for artists ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ such as FC Kahuna, Underworld, Playgroup, Bentley ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Rhythm Ace and Stereo MCs. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Their mix is an awesome journey through early 80Æs ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ inspired disco funk (see Chicken Lips own remixes here) ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ as well as the original real deals (Electra and Captain ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Rapp from 1983), dub reggae licks (F.I.T.S vs Idjuts), ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ deep broken beat house (Ian PooleyÆs mix of Crazy ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Penis), driving electro house (Ewan PearsonÆs mix of ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Playgroup) and off the wall minimal funk (Chroma Oscura ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ on the Balihu label). ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ If ever a mix compilation offers such diversity and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ intrigue, then it has to be this one! ▌ ▀
