Keith Blake a.k.a. Prince Alla was born in Denham Town,
Kingston Jamaica on May 10th 1950. He began his recroding
career with producer Joe Gibbs as a part of the Leaders
vocal group during 1967 and 1968. Gibbs licensed three
release from the group through Amalgamated label in the UK
before the Leaders disbanded. As a solo vocalist, and using
his birth name of Keith Blake, he also cut "Woo Oh Oh",
"Musically", "I Am Moving On" for Joe Gibbs.
In 1969 he became strongly involved in the Rastafarian
movement, when he re-emerged through Bertram Brown's Freedom
Sounds and released "Sun Is Shining", "Mama Don't Fight",
Come Away. In 1976, he made songs for Tappa Zukie who
recorded them at Lee Perry's Black Ark studio. The results
track "Bosrah" was initially released on Vivian 'Yabbu U'
Jackson's Prophetimprint. Tappa also produced a superb album
on him called Heaven Is My Roof containing such classic
material as "Bosrah", "Daniel", Funeral".
During the 1980s, he would record infrequency. he made a
show case album called King Of The Road Showcase for Calrton
Jackson's International label in 1982. In early 1996, he cut
an album for UK based sound system operator Jah Shaka
marketed by Greensleeves titled Jah Children Gather Round.
