Release Notes:
The band started out playing for fun in 2005 and have since gone on to
support The Strokes, as well as touring nationally themselves.
The 'New Cassettes' played the 'BBC Introducing...' stage at
Glastonbury Festival in 2007. They were one of the five Introducing
acts selected to perform at the BBC Electric Proms, and performed at
the 2006 Latitude, Wireless, and Summer Sundae festivals. In the weeks
preceding their performance at the BBC Electric proms their stories
were followed by a series of five documentaries, and they went on to
play at the BBC introducing UK tour.
They were described by Channel 4 as "One of the country's most exciting
new bands", and have been compared to Kaiser Chiefs, The Futureheads,
Bloc Party, Weezer, and Franz Ferdinand.
Now having two song featured on hit Channel 4 comedy The Inbetweeners,
New Cassettes get ready to release their debut album 'The Art Of...' in
June of this year (2009) in the UK on New Label, New Danger
