An original and integral member of Ian Dury's Blockheads, Chas
Jankel cowrote most of their major hits and his feel for pop and
funk gave The Blockheads a different edge when new wave was the
rage.
Keyboardist Chaz Jankel brought a funky sensibility to the new wave
era, earning a reputation as a forward-thinking artist with
creativity to spare.
His work has recently been brought back by nu-disco producers and a
compilation of his solo work been edited in 2008. This is his
second solo LP, I re-equalized and digitally restored it, sounds
great and aside of the obvious pearls ("Glad to know you" etc...)
also has some great little gemms, as the copy on the back of the Lp
says it: best way to describe it "philosophical phunk", this album
has the post-punk energy and the disco groove, way ahead of its,
and our time !
