Eric Vloeimans (1963) studied jazz- and classical trumpet at
the Rotterdams Conservatorium. Through Peter van Helvoort, his
first trumpet teacher, Henk Koekkoek, with whom he followed
workshops, and Cees Smal he came into contact with jazz en
improvised music. He made his stage debut as a member of Paul
van Kemenade's Leerorkest. In 1988 Eric Vloeimans graduated
with honors. In 1989 Vloeimans received a scholarship to
continue his studies at the New School in New York. There he
performed with the Frank Foster and Mercer Ellington bands,
among others. Since 1989 Vloeimans has been active in a wide
variety of ensembles: PB 5, with which he won the International
NOS Meervaart Jazzconcours, Niko Langenhuissens Vaalbleek,
Pierre Courbois Jubilation, Trio Borstlap / Vloeimans /
Reijseger, Bik Bent Braam, Michiel Borstlap Sextet, Carmen
Gomes, Theo Hoogstins Octet, Eric van der Westen Octet,
Kristina Fuchs Sonic Unit, Paul van Kemenade Quintet, Arend
Niks Project, VANDOORN, Martin Fondse Oktemble, Fra Fra Sound,
Heptagon, Loek Dikker, Masha Bijlsma Band, Francien van Tuinen,
