This CD is being sold at Cut Chemist's shows and on HipHopSite,
apparently a limited edition of 1000. HipHopSite doesn't mention
it, but this CD is an edited version of Rare Equations, a tape
which Cut Chemist put out in 1995 (on Hip Hop Vibes). Rare
Equations was bootlegged last year (2CD with a totally fucked up
tracklist). I guess this is a reaction to the bootleg, an
"official" rerelease. Too bad, cause no one put much effort into
typing the tracklist or splitting the tracks. It almost looks like
Cut Chemist took the bootleg and edited it. Whatever. I did my
best (two hours of my best) to correct the tracklist and add the
artists' names (those are mostly correct.. cept root down..)
the last few tracks may be completely wrong, it's not my fault, they
should have edited it better!
I am strongly tempted to tell people to not buy this mix, just
because there wasn't much effort put into this rerelease. But hey,
the mix is strong, support Cut Chemist! I guess......
(DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist will destroy the world with their
anti-bootlegger robots!)
