- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
As singer/songwriter for The Glad Version, Adam Svec is familiar with the
construction of a pop song. In contrast with The Glad VersionÆs full bodied
production, SvecÆs Enemy Swimmer is a deliberate attempt to hold back the
studio ... Full Descriptionreins and stick to the basics. While dealing
with his childhood, relationships, and anxieties, Svec lets his voice and the
simplicity of the song structure do the storytelling. Engineer extraordinaire
Tor Johnson builds beautiful soundscapes behind the skeletons of SvecsÆ
tracks that span from the loneliness of a solo acoustic guitar to the
comforting full arrangement of an air organ, a muted banjo, a wurlitzer, and
a box filled with bells. Enemy Swimmer is recommended if you like John
Vanderslice, Death Cab for Cutie, and Sufjan Stevens.
