25 TRACKS FER 1 TRACK might sound like an impossible promise to
keep, but Phthalocyanine tries to stay true to his word: each of
these seven tracks is chocked full of ideas, marvellously dense
with sound and noise. Listen to how "Valids.2" trails out in a
metallic symphony or how the percussion on ""Vints.73" clatters
and crashes. If you don't like a certain part, it'll give way to
something else in no time; for instance, the humming on "Fer U 53"
gives way to a rhythmic aggression, and "Spokes.29" is all over
the map. There's a calamitousness to the album, and needless to
say, it's messy and shapeless, but appealing nonetheless.
