"Once again, Antony Hegarty is shaking up the pop world with his songs of
longing. In his latest work, the New-Yorker-by-choice with roots in the
experimental theatre and drag-performance scene explores his relations with
nature and the elements: ôThe Crying Lightô (2009) tells of transitoriness and
recurrence, recollecting a holistic, animist view of the world. Darkened nature
romanticism, beauty and grief, pain and salvation û evoked by AntonyÆs unique,
tender and androgynous voice and accompanied by the chamber-pop music ensemble,
The Johnsons. (donaufestival.at)
