Dave Matthias set out on a mission .......

Originally Dave Matthias started his media career in television
production back in 1985. After 5 years of TV production he made a
transition into radio. "Audio production & music was much more
appealing & interesting to me. I produced commercials, radio station
imaging & promos, edited music, you name it, I did everything! Music
had always been such an integral part of my life I knew I was
destined to do something with it."

However, Dave Matthias' career was definitely NOT an overnight
     success story ....

Developing a thorough & comprehensive knowledge of dance-radio
formats, in 1992 Matthias left a highly coveted San Francisco radio
gig (of almost 4 years) at KITS / LIVE 105 FM to get closer to the
streets. He started dj'ing various nightclubs where he quickly
developed a name for himself within the dance community.

In 1994, Matthias became a Billboard Reporter, one of only 115 A-list
dj's in the entire U.S. to determine Billboard Magazine's Dance
Chart. 1995-96 brought him numerous nightclub gigs & residency on two
different radio stations. Tuesday nights 10p-12a "The Matthias Mix"
could be heard on the Santa Rosa, California PBS station, KBBF 89.1
FM. And of course, the highly recognized, highly acclaimed, "St.
John's Playhouse" could be heard on San Francisco's #1 dance station,
KYLD / WILD 107 FM Saturday nights 2-4am.

Matthias is responsible for the official radio-edit mixes of Armand
Van Helden's smash hit "The Funk Phenomena", commercially released on
     Atlantic/Henry Street Records.

In 1997-98, Matthias did extensive remix work for the Hot Tracks
Remix Service. He has completed 45 major-label remix projects with
the Hot Tracks service. Numerous "Dave Matthias" remixes can be heard
on this remix service, available on both cd & vinyl formats. Also in
1998, Matthias worked at KZQZ / Z95.7 FM in San Francisco. There, he
was the stations' 1st Mixshow DJ paving the way for regular mixshow
     programming heard on The Z!

In April of '99, Matthias started a new endeavor, "CLUB SEXY" (and
later named "THE GROOVE"). His nationally-recognized #1 Arbitron-
rated dance-radio mixshow on Northern California's KSXY / HOT 95.9
FM. "CLUB SEXY/THE GROOVE" featured the latest House, Disco-House,
Club & Trance music in a continuous-mix format. Produced, mixed &
hosted by Matthias Saturday nights 9p-3a. To date, no other feature
show or program has seen such incredible Arbitron ratings that
Matthias consistently delivered on the station.

January 2000 saw the release of Matthias' first national mix-cd, "In
My House, There's A Disco" on StreetBeat Records/UBL Recordings. He
also started doing remix work for X-MIX Remix Service.

November 2000 Matthias had the honor of mixing Loleatta Holloway's
"Queen Of The Night: The Ultimate Club Collection" greatest hits mix
     -cd on
The Right Stuff/Capitol Records released nationally January 2001.

November 2000 also saw a nationally syndicated dance-radio mixshow
for Matthias. "THE DIGITAL GROOVE", a 4-hour weekly show featuring
the latest House, Club and Trance in a continuous-mix format heard on
numerous radio stations across the U.S. It features weekly resident
dj's, which includes Dave Matthias, as well as high-profile special
guest dj's from around the world.

In December 2000, HOT 95.9 FM named Dave Matthias their Mixshow
Director. In June 2001, Wine Country Radio Group named Matthias their
3-station Production Director and afternoon drive-time personality on
     HOT 95.9 FM.

In December 2001, Dave Matthias decided it was time to focus solely
on his national projects, nationally-syndicated radio mixshows and
dj'ing. Beginning with [what was to be] his next national CD release
which hit stores March 2002. "Future Sounds Of Trance 1" is an
incredible collection of today's most sought-after trance anthems.
"F.S.O.T." was destined to make its' mark in today's extremely
     competitive dance-compilation frenzy.

With the success of F.S.O.T. as well as his nationally syndicated
dance-radio mixshows, the demand for Dave Matthias' increasingly
popular "signature-sound" has become more and more apparent
nationwide. Matthias appears regularly in Hollywood, San Diego,
Phoenix and the San Francisco Bay Area.

January - March 2003 saw an unprecedented amount of new dance
compilations on the market mixed by Dave Matthias:
     - "Work This! 2003 Part 4" released January 2003
     - "Dance Essentials Volume 3" released February 2003
     - "Pure Dance Party" released April 2003.

February 2003, you could hear Dave Matthias' mix-cds featured
regularly on Sirius Satellite Radio Networks, Direct TV & Music
     Choice Satellite Music Networks.

May 2003, "Pure Dance Party" hit Billboard Magazines' Electronic
Albums Sales Chart in the Top 20 selling over 100,000 copies. Also
Dave Matthias can now be heard regularly on Chris Brophy's mega-
popular U.K. CMP radio mixshow "The Infect'ive Mix" which reaches an
     average 1.4 million listeners!

Next Matthias completed the jam packed 2-disc set "Maximum Workout"
that was released early January 2004 as well as the much anticipated
follow-up to Pure Dance Party (which to-date has sold more than
160,000 copies). The 2-disc set "Pure Dance Party 2" hit stores late
     March 2004.

October 2004, "houseMixed" Matthias' latest 2-disc project, features
his signature infectious house-groove sounds from around the globe!

November 2004 Dave Matthias was accepted to The Recording Academy.
The prestigious institution responsible for The Grammys. Based on
true peer recognition, it is the most prestigious honor in the music
world! As an active member Dave Matthias has this distinct honor of
being a voting member and attendee of The Grammy Awards!

April 2007 saw the release of Best Of Pure Dance Party. A 2-disc set
featuring both Dave Matthias mixes from Pure Dance Party and Pure
     Dance Party Vol. 2.

May 2007 saw the release of Dave Matthias' 13th national cd True
Dance 1. TD1 is the ultimate club experience and is destined to be a
favorite and anthem of clubgoers and house fans worldwide, so pick
     yours up today!

In 2008 to date, Dave Matthias has been back in the studio working on
various record label remixes and productions. View Remix Discography.

His 1st original major-label release Dave Matthias "Take Me" on
Carrillo Music dropped in Europe January 2009 and in the U.S.
     February/March 2009.
2009 has also seen more major label remixes as well: Dave Matthias
remixes of Rihanna, Ronnie Sumrall, Bodega Charlie feat. D.O.S.E. of
Fulanito, America Olivo and The Presets. More remix info at
Discography. He's also been added to several more radio mixshow
     rosters across the country.
