Liam Finn says that his new EP, Champagne in Seashells, is a ôdocument of a
small moment in time.ö HeÆs modestly referring to the busy two years since the
release of his critically acclaimed debut album, /IÆll Be Lightning/, and the
nearly uninterrupted schedule of touring that has taken him around the world
multiple times.
Having played his own sold-out shows on every continent, opened for the The
Black Keys and Eddie Vedder, and performed at the All TomorrowÆs Parties
festival, Liam is set to release a new EP world-wide this September.
Recorded in April at Roundhead studios in Auckland New Zealand on the same
analogue equipment that captured I'll Be Lightning, Champagne in Seashells is
bigger and bolder, revealing new lyrical complexities and pointing in daring new
musical directions. It also marks the debut studio collaboration between Liam
and live cohort Eliza-Jane. The self produced EP was mixed by legendary sonic
wiz Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Gomez, Pearl Jam).
