This is a reissue of an 80's 7" from Japanese psych band, Onna
on reputable label Holy Mountain. It has what you would expect
from a band described as such. VERY browned out, a little like
LRD but less feedback and not as heavy. Also features more
rhythm than one would expect, with the A side having an almost
dub-reggae (!) kind of drumming pattern. Recommended highly.

Label description: "Reissue of this 1983 psychedelic punk
single from Japanese artist Keizo Miyanish. 'Cortigiana dal
velo' and 'Mune o tsutsunde' pair acid guitar and bass over
tripped out drum programming and loops to produce a
psychedelic masterpiece that fits somewhere between the first
White Stains seven-inch and Les Rallizes DΘnudΘs oeuvre circa
1980. We hope this this release and an upcoming retrospective
CD featuring the recorded debut of Michio Kurihara will vastly
expand their profile to music lovers worldwide."

Still Single: "Surprise rediscovery of a 1983 single by
Japanese psych dreamers Onna, finding kindred spirits in such
currents acts like Ariel Pink, Gary War, or Blank Dogs, any of
which could be reasonably extrapolated from OnnaÆs languid
logic. Two long-ish pieces build up an image of lysergic
isolation, with honeydripping guitar dirges, wistful
Ghost-like soloing (guitarist Michio Kurihara made his
recorded debut with Onna, though perhaps not on this release),
and high-register vocals across a layer of phased, Gothic bass
and solemn drum machine. If youÆve ever heard Nick NicelyÆs
works from the same period, this is very much on the same
wavelength. Pretty great stuff, but specific, too; donÆt come
in here expecting High Rise or something more punk-sounding."
