│ A revolutionary project from Question Mark Records │
│ │
│ For those of you who think that the Roland MC-303 Groovebox is not a │
│ real instrument, you are absolutely right. It is, in fact, far more than │
│ that. This unique concept is an "all-in-one" machine, providing the user │
│ with the technology to create a whole track, thanks to an integrated │
│ sequencer, 500 different sounds and numerous effects. │
│ │
│ The Groovebox Experience is the latest production from Question Mark │
│ Records, a sublabel of Distance Records, in association with Backstage │
│ Productions. │
│ Question Mark and Backstage have asked a number of leading international │
│ france/techno artists, includind X-Dream, Scan-X and Infra Orange, to │
│ produce a track using just the Groovebox. Question Mark's own artists, │
│ Deedrah and Cypher, have also produced tracks for the project. │
│ │
│ The results are quite astonishing. On hearing this compilation, it is │
│ difficult to believe that the tracks have been produced using one │
│ simple, easy to use and inexpensive piece of equipment. The tracks are │
│ very diverse - a pleasing combination of quality trance, Detroit techno, │
│ ambient, drum & bass, breakbeat and house. │
│ │
│ Best of all, The Groovebox Experience is an "interactive project", │
│ forming a radical link between artist and audience - the link being the │
│ MC 303. Buyers of the CD can produce their own remixes of tracks on the │
│ album by connecting themselves to the net and loading tracks into their │
│ own Groovebox. │
│ Real audience participation - real interactivity. │
│ │
│ The Groovebox Experience is just beginning of a new interactive concept │
│ in music. │
