OK, officially DJ Magic has the best intro track of any mixtape out this year,
bar none! Where else will you find Frisco MCing over the X factor theme tune? So
'No Hats No Hoods Vol.1' has seriously got us in the mood. Follow that up with
twenty nine of the heaviest and most essential Grime anthems of the last 12
months and you've got a formula for one of the best mix CDs of the year,
basically. This label is the most consistently exciting Grime imprint we stock
and each release is worthy of very close attention, this one more than most.
Magic is a sick DJ with a serious arsenal of vinyl weaponry at his disposal,
loading up cuts from Badness 'Bad Mind Yout', Chipmunk 'Going On Sho', Skepta ft
Flow Dan + Killa P '21 Seconds Remix' (!!!), Scratcha DVA's brutal 'Bullet Ago
Fly', Tempa T's all slewing 'Next Hype', Ruff Sqwad 'Bring Your Click', Wiley
'Where's My Brother', Jammer 'I'm Dirty', Silverlink ft Badness + Jammer 'The
Message Is Love' and so, so much more. We can't come close to doing this mix
justice because it's all about the in-the-moment fervour of Magic's quickfire
mixing and the furnace blast of verbals from the army of MCs involved, so get on
it or go back to bed.
Hugely recommended!
