A musical volcano who vitalised Swedish jazz! That could be an apt
desvription of the late alto saxophonist Christer Boustedt (1939-86), a
"natural born" jazz musician in the true meaning of the phrase. He was
equally at home on a theatre stage as he was on the bandstand at jazz
clubs and concert halls. He came to prominence for a wide public with his
performance in the Swedish film classic "Sven Klang's Kvintett", featuring
the music-and-theatre group "Oktober" of which he was a member. His
legendary Dragon LP "Blues, Ballads and Bebop", highly acclaimed by
critics, is now available at last on CD, with additional music recorded
"live" at Jazzclub Fasching in Stockholm. Bosse Broberg is on trumpet, ┼ke
Johansson, piano, Ivar Lindell, bass, and Gilbert Matthews, drums. The
sound of Christer Boustedt lives on !
