║ Stephen Brown, recording artist, live performer, dj & head honcho of ║
║ Realtime Records was born in Edinburgh in 1972. He has a long history of ║
║ involvement in electronic dance music. Becoming addicted to hip-hop, ║
║ electro, house and the associated pastimes of scratching, bmx-ing and ║
║ skateboarding. At an early age, Stephen could be found sneaking in to ║
║ Edinburgh dance club "The Hoochie Koochie", around 1988/89, where Yogi ║
║ Haughton played the best Chicago and Detroit imports along side music from ║
║ Unique 3, his friends from Leeds. This lead Brown to understand the ║
║ simplicity of house music and encouraged him to start making his own ║
║ tracks. In 1990 he started playing live in other Edinburgh clubs with a 303 ║
║ and a 909. After numerous shows locally throughout the early 90's, Stephen ║
║ retired to his bedroom to make music for the next 3 years. He spent his ║
║ time wisely perfecting a sound which is uniquely his. ║
║ The next stage began when Stephen met up with Claude Young who advised him ║
║ to send music off to Soma and Djax, with the resultant series of 12's on ║
║ Djax and an exclusive track for a Soma compilation, all of which were ║
║ received with much praise. His music can be heard on playlists by DJs such ║
║ as Laurent Garnier, Claude Young, Anthony Shakir, Miss DJax and Neil ║
║ Landstrumm to name a few. The Earl Brown track "How I Feel" (from The ║
║ Cornucopia EP), made number 20 in Musik Magazine's Hot One Hundred of 1996, ║
║ where the Earl's talent was compared to that of Chicago innovator Lil' ║
║ Louis. ║

║ In 1995 Stephen was performing live at Edinburgh's Legendary Pure club, on ║
║ the same bill as Techno Innovator Derrick May. Derrick was impressed and ║
║ was keen to release Stephens music. After some of the most protracted ║
║ negotiations in the history of dance music the deal has been done - Stephen ║
║ is due his first Transmat release in the next few months (late 2001). ║
║ Stephen has also performed with many of the great names in techno including ║
║ jams with the likes of Jeff Mills. ║

║ Stephen is preparing to release a new series of EP's on his own Real Time ║
║ Records. Negotiations are ongoing with Music Man, Soma and Djax. Realtime ║
║ will be back soon with a new release. Stephen is currently perfecting his ║
║ live & dj sets on the dancefloors ║
