     Dead Voices On Air is a well-known and established project moving
     in between the experimental, ambient and industrial scenes. Led by
     the enigmatic Mark Spybey "Fast Falls The Eventide" is the 11th
     full length of this project and it is a double disc. The release
     brings a cocktail of new compositions and early cuts originally
     recorded on tape in the early 90s. The 1st disc entitled "Fast
     Falls The Eventide" contains 15 new cuts written by Spybey who
     leads the listener in this strange sonic corridors from the
     artists' mind. The tracks come pretty close to a pure soundtrack
     piece. The tracks are like fragments and elements from a higher
     music aim. It moves in between anguishing ambient tracks and
     experimental creation. A surprise emerges with guitar play on the
     ""LH639"-track performed by guest musician Robin Storey (from
     Rapoon). This new album leaves the listener in the usual state of
     confusion when discovering a new work by Dead Voices On Air. The
     2nd disc entitled "Abrader" features 5 tracks from which the 3
     first ones have been originally released on an old tape from 1994
     entitled "G.R.O.S.S GR-30". The atmosphere running through the
     tracks is definitely rawer and more frightening. The
     soundscape-style is omnipresent. Especially the "Vaerglas"-cut is
     a nice piece of music where I got the impression of hearing the
     sound of a caterpillar joined by some anxious female screams. The
     last two tracks have been previously released, dated from the
     early years of the project. cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy) contributed
     to these fascinating pieces by playing some Moog sounds and barrel
     drums. I think both discs fit perfectly together while the 2nd
     disc is a kind of nice bonus for all the fans of the Canadian
     project!
