ok, this one is going to take some explaining.... it seems
that terence (now known as Sananda Maitreya) released an
album title "Wildcard" through Universal Germany. I'm not
sure why he split from them, but he decided to release it
through his own record label back last year. this release
is the new upcoming version of wildcard! under a new label
(Compendia). from his website:
"Here for your listening pleasure is the final edition of
'WILDCARD'. I'm calling it 'THE JOKERS' EDITION' to
differentiate it from the previous edition. 'THE JOKERS'
EDITION' shall also come with these 19 songs (a slightly
different song line-up) as well as new packaging and photos,
etc. I hope you enjoy it!
It's been a very hard road but I believe in persevering with
what you have faith in,
I also believe very much in these songs. The old version is
still being illegally exploited by Universal-Germany who are
selling surplus copies to unlicensed territories at
mark-down prices and they have also been less than honest
with regards to the number of CDs sold in order to avoid
paying money's due. I guess it's all in a day's work for
these cold hearted corporate thieves. It's also shamefull.
This new version however is free and clear of all that and I
offer it to your ear from my heart!

format. however, this is from a PROMO cd copy of the
upcoming album, NOT a web rip. feel free to listen to the
high real audio version and compare them to this rip. and
"no" i am not going to provide cover scans or photographs.
scans just help asshole bootleggers make money off someone
else's work (kinda sounds like the music industry, huh?).
now that we're all finished with that, let's talk about the
album. all i can say is "wow..." it is REALLY good. i've
never been a big fan of his since the "wishing well" days.
very mellow... thoughtful lyrics... the guy has an
incredible voice. think prince, stevie wonder, india arie
and d'angelo mixed together. Terence is definitely not your
normal commercial artist. if you like soul, r&b, jazz, or
prince you'll like this album.
please, please PLEASE go out and get this album if you like
it. Terence (Sananda) deserves your support.
ps - Terence's name is : Terence Trent D'Arby and the album is
Wildcard! but apostrophes and exclamation marks in a dir name
is a no-no =(
