after journeying from London to Rio and back enough times to lose
track-it comes down to a simple and powerful desire to spread the
inspiration and pleasure of brazil's innate musicality to a world
wide audience! ten years dedicated to this cause, joe davis of far
out recordings brings you his passion and in-depth knowledge of all
sounds brazilian. (this time the cd has a focus on sao paulo's
thriving urban music scene and there are many exclusive tracks
unavailable before on far out catalogue).
this compilation features modern classics from joyce, azymuth and
grupo batuque. the other tracks have been signed or recorded
exclusively for this project including hard-to-find tracks taken
from the innovative sao paulo based label trama. taken from trama is
the original mix of dj patife's much-hyped remix of max de castro
'pra voce lembrar'. you will also find seductive bossa nova featuring
the shimmering vocal's of smoke city's 'nina miranda' on the track
'agua', da lata's remix of escravos do jo, plus unreleased remixes
from kirk degiorgio, roc hunter. our final exclusive comes from 'the
comanche groove band' aka brazilian maestro joao parayhba of trio
mocoto (jorge ben's sensational 70's band).

respect to joe davis! one of the first 12"s i ever bought was
da lata 'ponteio' on far out, and his label got me interested
in brazilian music. hopefully trama records will get a uk
distribution deal sorted because those 4 hero produced tracks
of patricia marx are soundin good!
