Martin Solveig - C'estlavier remixes
Martin Solveig gives us the lowdown on his mixà
TRACKLISTING:
01 Martin Solveig - Intro
Temps d'Avance
The mix begins with this little homemade mash-up featuring loops from John
DahlbΣck's remix of 'C'est La Vie' and Deepside Deejays' version of 'One 2.3
Four', plus special vox cuts to get the party started.
02 Martin Solveig - One 2.3 Four (Deepside Deejays Remix)
Temps d'Avance
Romanian newcomers who won the remix contest we organised for 'One 2.3 Four'.
Their production skills could be compared to that of the cutting-edge Dutch
and Swedish stars. They're certainly deserving of our attention.
03 Martin Solveig - One 2.3. Four (Popof Remix)
Temps d'Avance
He's my breakthrough artist of 2009. He has a lot of edge and personality in
his work. I literally hammered his track 'Shades' during the summer, which
shows he's not only a good remixer.
04 Martin Solveig - Boys & Girls (Extended/Les Petits Pilous Remix)
Temps d'Avance & Dragonette Publishing
I'm proud of this song that came out of nowhere and allowed me to collaborate
with Jean Paul Gaultier on the video. As for the remix, it_s a very French
touch mix, noisy but with plenty more to offer. Les Petits Pilous are
definitely part of the next indie French generation.
05 Martin Solveig - C'est La Vie (Fedde Le Grand vs MS Club Mix)
Temps d'Avance
Fedde said yes to this collaboration just after his break with Ida Corr. At
the time he was just starting his artist album and probably had a lot on his
plate! I can't thank him enough for taking the time out to do this. He became
a good friend.
06 Martin Solveig - C'est La Vie (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)
Temps d'Avance
Ultra-talented Italian newcomers, who are comfortable with extreme distortion
as much as complex melodic progressions. A personal favourite is their remix
of Robyn's 'Cobrastyle'. Check out their album, it's great!
07 Martin Solveig - I Want You (Mowgli/Tepr Remix)
Temps d'Avance
Although he is still very young and relatively unknown, Mowgli is one of the
precursors of nu rave, with a strong London influence that I dig a lot! Tepr
is slightly shadowed by his main project with Yelle, but I've played his
'Recreation Mix' for about a year now.
08 Martin Solveig - I Want You (Laidback Luke Instrumental)
Temps d'Avance
The floor-breaker machine! Excellent DJ, and definitely one of the best
remixers around. This mix of 'I Want You' helped the track reach No.1 in
Australia and France. I can't wait to collaborate with Luke on his own work.
09 Martin Solveig - Boys & Girls (Bart B More Dans Tes Rave Remix)
Temps d'Avance
My coup de coeur remixer of 2009! Part of the Dutch storm that took over
European floors this year, Bart has a wide range of productions and all the
tools to make him a serious player in the future.
10 Martin Solveig - Poptimistic (Bingo Players Vox)
Temps d'Avance
They insisted on doing something with 'Poptimistic', and that was quite
tricky, to work on those spoken words with few musical elements. The final
result deserves a big 'Well done boys!'
11 Martin Solveig - Give It To Me (Kolombo & Compuphonic Mix MS Edit)
Temps d'Avance
I'm really proud to include these Belgian producers on this album. The guys'
personalities are perfect for the job, along with their strong background in
electronic music culture. Their style develops with every new release.
12 Martin Solveig - Give It To Me (Tiger Stripes Remix)
Temps d'Avance
Although stemming from a more classic house background, he experiments and
knows how to make a beat that gets you moving. This remix becomes addictive
the more and more you listen to it!
13 Martin Solveig - One 2.3 Four (Mason's Dark Disco Mix)
Temps d'Avance
More on the 'tech' side but highly original. Perfect late at night to keep
the party rocking!
14 Martin Solveig - Touch Me (John Paradox Running Dub)
Temps d'Avance
The newcomer of this album. John is French, but doesn't sound French at all,
which reminds me of the very beginning of my career. I've been following John
for a couple of years, and his progress is stunning. You'll soon hear about
him, that's for sure!
15 Martin Solveig - Touch Me (Mark Mendes Remix)
Temps d'Avance
I fell in love with 'Beneath You', I think I've played it over a hundred
times now! I knew Mark would do a great job on 'Touch Me'. It's a bit deeper,
more melodic and the result surpasses all my expectations.
16 Martin Solveig - One 2.3 Four (Felix Da Housecat's Atl Sia Rude Retro Mix)
Temps d'Avance
When I bought my first Felix Da Housecat record, I hadn't even started to
produce music. I was under 18 and his name was already all over the place.
It's simply an honour to conclude the album with his remix.
