█ . │▓ the star of the Adriatic Sea. The music represents a long path of █
█ . │▓ searching and experimenting relationships between the music from the South █
█ . │▓ of Italy, Albania, Greece and the north-east Adriatic side. Original █
█ . │▓ lyrics and music search for a new kind of language able to match █
█ . │▓ traditions and peculiarities of Adriatic cultures. █

█ . │▓ A hypothetical voyage through the ports of the Adriatic Sea. A long trip █
█ . │▓ made of chance encounters and spasmodic research. From the shores of █
█ . │▓ ItalyÆs Salento to Albania, from Venice to Dubrovnik and as far afield as █
█ . │▓ Crete, dreaming of a safe haven. █
█ . │▓ █
█ . │▓ Maremoto is a journey across cultural and geographical boundaries, whose █
█ . │▓ partecipants share the feeling of stretching both kinds of borders while █
█ . │▓ moving through them. A CD and a DVD keep track of this story by means of █
█ . │▓ music and images. It happens in the Adriatic sea, going backwards along █
█ . │▓ the timeline in search of what preceeded its diaspora. █
█ . │▓ █
█ . │▓ The trip stops in Dubrovnik, Durazzo and Tirana, last stop is in Otranto: █
█ . │▓ one stage at each harbour, a concert on every stage, in the places where █
█ . │▓ music has always had the possiblity of traveling and changing, where █
█ . │▓ leaving and arriving people meet each other, with faces and languages in █
█ . │▓ continuous mutation, in eternal search for a possible landing place. █
█ . │▓ The seaquake ("maremoto") stirs the currents and a landing takes place in █
█ . │▓ the experience of meeting up with the Voix Bulgare (Eva Quartet) and with █
█ . │▓ musicians from Albania (Bojken Lako, Redi and Ekland Hasa), Croatia (Ivo █
█ . │▓ Letunic, Mateo Martinovic and the Klapa "Otok") and Istria (Dario █
█ . │▓ Marusic). █
█ . │▓ Brought together by the sea, these musicians meet up on a ship and bring █
█ . │▓ back to Salento a heritage of half-cast cultures which are somehow already █
█ . │▓ part of the landscape: Salento, during the centuries, has been the target █
█ . │▓ of several invasions and landings, land of conquers and exchange, a symbol █
█ . │▓ for migrant cultures. In this trip, the musicians experience the encounter █
█ . │▓ of sounds and languages that can eventually find a common ground of █
█ . │▓ exchange and confrontation. They share the difficulties and times of █
█ . │▓ orienting and navigation through the vaste sea of traditions in which they █
█ . │▓ grew up and through which they are slowly traveling, trying to talk to █
█ . │▓ each other. █
