INFO :
After listening to TSE TSE a few times, you might find yourself
wondering whether Yvonne Cornelius aka Niobe hasnÆt long since
departed to the "other side." Much of what you hear on the
album is left hanging in the balance, momentarily assuming
form, only to dissolve once more in an instant, coalescing,
quite by surprise, into a whole at the end. Piano, acoustic
guitar, soulful horns and strings resound like fim music yet
to be written. Always wistful, extremely melancholic, abstract,
but at the same time meandering in an continually arresting flux.
Against this background the German-venezualan artist sings,
whispers, coos, laughs and murmurs with a singularly cautious
eloquence. The nostalgic glamour of the Ratpack is artfully
deconstructed here. The sub-division of material into individual
songs or tracks is scarcely perceptible on TSE TSE, nor indeed
intended. This album is soft-sift through the listenerÆs fingers.
