NFO: this is a version that came out CD (independently released)
and WEB only which features more tracks than what was issued on the
Rong vinyl and exclusive remixes.
Based out of Camden, New Jersey, Chocolate Star was an outlet for
Gary Davis to flex the musical heritage he had learnt (first hand!)
from the likes of Manny Albam and the famed jazz organist Richard
"Groove" Holmes who just happened to be his Uncle.
Chocolate Star peppered the public with tight releases that were
aimed straight at the dance floor, with 'Got To Get Your Love' a
NYC classic and 'Pop' one of the first tracks ever to use a
drum-machine beat.
Gary Davis is back in action in 2009 and we couldn't be happier to
hear this musical voice free again.
