ink has been a lover a music since his early years, still at
school he started to purchase vinyl at every given opportunity.
teaming up with his close friends zac c otherwise known as dj kwest
and jake w otherwise known as mr eclectic, who both have varied
musical backgrounds ranging from piano lessons, musical theory
sessions and also some sound engineering course. jake w had also
worked for various independent labels gaining knowledge and
experience which enabled them to set up their own label;
"architecture".
dj ink continued djing whilst still at college. he played for
various radio stations over the years covering london and the
surrounding areas, stations such as defection, sub transmission and
underground fm. whilst at defection dj ink met kemistry and storm
with whom he built up a good personal and professional relationship
with. still djing and collecting as much drum and bass as possible,
dj ink was invited down to one of the metalheadz sunday sessions by
kemistry and storm where they were playing. after a couple of
visits down to metalheadz, ink made his debut djing at the blue
note sessions - and from then on became part of the metalheadz kru,
being a resident dj at all metalheadz club nights.
this set by dj ink and mc verse was broadcasted in the early
morning hours on 27th october 2001.
