Dub and German humour aren't the most
likely of bedfellows, in fact they've
probably inspired some very lame gags
from Jeremy Clarkson, but in the hands
of Shackleton, Lawrence, Hey O Hansen
and Peter Presto they collide with
impressive results. I'll admit I regret
listening to Atari Teenage Riot on my
tape walkman during German classes at
school because I really don't get the
craic on this record, but Shackleton
continues to stun us after last week's
Moderat remix with another reconfigured
stepper arranged and executed in his
inimitable style. For any of his fans
this is totally essential! It's left to
Lawrence to provide the biggest surprise
with his 90bpm remix sounding like Sly &
Robbie just moved to Hamburg, while Hey
O Hansen make a welcome return with some
techy dubbage and Peter Presto crafts a
smart R'n'B-Dub-tech thing in the vein
of Jahcoozi or MDSLKTR's slower styles.
