Release Notes:
æOdds & EvensÆ is the gorgeous new single from London based psych pop
trio The High Wire. This instantly captivating track is euphorically
upbeat and a perfect antidote to the autumnal blues, instantly
transporting the listener to sunnier climes and happier times. æOdds &
EvensÆ is taken from The High WireÆs brilliant forthcoming album æThe
Sleep TapeÆ, due for release in early 2010 and produced by the band
with additional production and mixing by Rik Simpson, who has
previously worked with the likes of Blur, Portishead, Coldplay and PJ
Harvey.
The High WireÆs music is an intoxicating blend of acoustic based
melodies infused within a mix of heavy distortion, driving guitars and
deliriously chanted vocal harmonies. Buried within the bandÆs heavenly
pop dreamscapes are faint echoes of the sounds of early nineties
shoegaze and alt-rock, blowing a fresh yet wistful breath into a sound
pioneered by the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Band Of Horses and
Mercury Rev.
After releasing their critically acclaimed debut mini album æAhead of
the RainÆ, in the spring 2008 they caught the attention of the 6 Music
æRebel PlaylistÆ, recorded a session for Radio 2Æs Dermot OÆLeary Show
and provided support for ColdplayÆs sell out UK tour.
