It's always cause for celebration when a new FXHE drops, and this
one's one of the exceptionally good'uns. One of Detroit's most vital
characters has done himself proud again, from the tempered gospel
soul of 'Lift Him Up' featuring Don Q belting it out over one of his
raw-cut specials, to the sub laden kicks and piquant synthline
developments of 'Flying Blind', all house heads are in for a treat.
But by far the main point of interest here is 'Still Serious Nic',
one of those deeply abstract and beautifully odd tracks that
producers like Omar, Theo and Jus Ed can turn out, with
claustrophobic subs and murky basement chords heavily smudged for
that perfect shadowy late night vibe. Killer.
