█│ On the back of the amazing reactions to the debut │█
█│ album "Let The Night Roar" and his Prodigy remix │█
█│ causing the internet to go into meltdown Dylan │█
█│ Richards aka King Cannibal returns with two │█
█│ completely new tracks. "Downtime" and "Stone Tape │█
█│ Theory" were originally recorded as part of the "Let │█
█│ The Night Roar" sessions. When he listened through, │█
█│ though, Richards decided that they didn't really fit │█
█│ with the feel of the record. They did, however, work │█
█│ so perfectly together that in his own words, "it's │█
█│ hard to talk about each song seperately." So, here │█
█│ they are, the terrible twins of Richards' dark │█
█│ musical imagination. │█
█│ │█
█│ "They were born from my love of the drum and bass │█
█│ golden years," Richards explains, "when labels like │█
█│ Metalheadz and No U Turn were starting to make waves.│█
█│ It's all about creatively cutting up drums, flipping │█
█│ from edit to edit, continually shifting the sounds so│█
█│ that they creep and crawl." │█
█│ │█
█│ The magnificently brooding results that King │█
█│ Cannibal gets from this approach aren't really drum &│█
█│ bass, but neither are they dubstep. "Needless to say │█
█│ I'm a huge admirer of dubstep," says Richards. "But I│█
█│ really wanted to put a more dynamic feel back in to │█
█│ the sound and mess with the format a little more." │█
█│ Rather, they continue to mine the seam of originality│█
█│ that has become synonymous with King Cannibal - │█
█│ brooding and visceral soundpieces. │█
█│ │█
█│ As with his breakout hit, "Arigami Style," the two │█
█│ tunes are also inspired by Richards' admiration for │█
█│ Eastern Cinema but in this case he says the influence│█
█│ is "less Ichi The Killer, more Sword Of Doom - │█
█│ elegant and poetic when it strikes out. A ninja's │█
