█████▌ ███▌ close to avoid it is little surprise ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ that the four members of Kinesis were ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ drawn to each other at school in the ▀█████████
▀▀██▄ summer of 2000. Too young and intelligent ▄██▀▀███ ▀ ▄
▄▄▄▄▄ ▐██▓ to do the weekly pub / club / fight ▓██▌ ████▄ ▄█▌
▀ ▀▀███▄ ▄▓▓█▓▌ thing and fired by a love of guitars ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀███████▀
▐███▌▄█████▀ and politics Mike, Tom, Neil and Conor ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▄ ▄███▄█████▀ were (and are) the type of people that had ▀█████▄
▀▀███▀██████▀ ▀▄▄ to be in a band. In a world which is ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ busting at the seams with stage school ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ kids intent on the quick road to fame ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ and where having political convictions ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ is about as popular as anthrax in most ▀███████▀▓▄▄▄
▄▄▄ ▀▀██▄ youth circles, it is fair to say that the ▄██▀▀■ ▀████▄
▄████▀▀▀▄ ▐██▓ four outsiders didn't have to travel ▓██▌ ▐▌ ▐████
▐████▌ ▄▄▓▓█▓▌ very far to find each other. ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀█▄▄▄███▀
▀████▄▄▄▄███████▀ ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▀▀███▀▄█████▀ With Neil persuaded to play the drums on ▀█████▄
▄█████▀ ▀▄▄ the basis that he could learn faster ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ than anyone else Kinesis was born. ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ Having decided to form a band and, ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ further, to use that band as a vehicle ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ to put across their forthright views on ▀█████████
▀▀██▄ the society in which they found ▄██▀▀███ ▀ ▄
▄▄▄▄▄ ▐██▓ themselves, the four teenagers acted ▓██▌ ████▄ ▄█▌
▀ ▀▀███▄ ▄▓▓█▓▌ fast. A 5 track EP, "The Flowers Are ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀███████▀
▐███▌▄█████▀ Dead", was recorded to allow the new ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▄ ▄███▄█████▀ band to get gigs in the area and the ▀█████▄
▀▀███▀██████▀ ▀▄▄ response was so great that the band ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ decided to go back into the studio with ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ Pete Troughton (I Am Kloot, Elbow). ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ The result was the mini-LP, "Worship ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ Yourself", and, having negotiated a ▀███████▀▓▄▄▄
▄▄▄ ▀▀██▄ distribution deal with Cargo themselves, ▄██▀▀■ ▀████▄
▄████▀▀▀▄ ▐██▓ the boys saw their initial 500 copies ▓██▌ ▐▌ ▐████
▐████▌ ▄▄▓▓█▓▌ sell-out in two months with Kerrang! of ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀█▄▄▄███▀
▀████▄▄▄▄███████▀ the opinion that "Kinesis can't really ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▀▀███▀▄█████▀ go wrong". Even over a year away from it's ▀█████▄
▄█████▀ ▀▄▄ release, "Worship Yourself" is an ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ amazing first statement from a band ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ still at school with a maturity and ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ purpose far beyond the ages of it's ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ creators. ▀█████████
▀▀██▄ ▄██▀▀███ ▀ ▄
▄▄▄▄▄ ▐██▓ Despite looming exams, the band ▓██▌ ████▄ ▄█▌
▀ ▀▀███▄ ▄▓▓█▓▌ continued to tour and their growing ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀███████▀
▐███▌▄█████▀ fanbase led them to the door of Crystal ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▄ ▄███▄█████▀ Songs. With Chris Sheldon (Foo ▀█████▄
▀▀███▀██████▀ ▀▄▄ Fighters,Pixies) in the producer's chair ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ the band recorded new song "And They ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ Obey" for their first single release. ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ Steve Lamacq was so impressed with the ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ single that he offered the band a Lamacq ▀███████▀▓▄▄▄
▄▄▄ ▀▀██▄ Session Unsigned and Mark and Lard and Jo ▄██▀▀■ ▀████▄

▀▀███████▀ Bolton. Soon after Jean Marie Le Pen was ▀███████▀▓▄▄▄
▄▄▄ ▀▀██▄ the sole challenger in the French ▄██▀▀■ ▀████▄
▄████▀▀▀▄ ▐██▓ presidential election and the far right ▓██▌ ▐▌ ▐████
▐████▌ ▄▄▓▓█▓▌ were sharing power in Holland and ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀█▄▄▄███▀
▀████▄▄▄▄███████▀ Belgium. "Everything Destroys Itself" ▀█████▄ ▀▀▀
▀▀███▀▄█████▀ highlighted the increasing grip of the ▀█████▄
▄█████▀ ▀▄▄ corporate media over 'entertainment' and ▄▄▀ ▀█████▄
▐█████ ▐█▓ questioned the lack of individuality in ▓█▌ █████▌
█████▌ ███▌ a culture obsessed with reality TV and ▐███ ▐█████
▀█████▄ ▓██▓ star photos as more people voted for a ▓██▓ ▄█████▀
▀▀███████▀ winner of Big Brother than for the ▀█████████
▀▀██▄ incumbent government. To say that Kinesis ▄██▀▀███ ▀ ▄
▄▄▄▄▄ ▐██▓ seemed to be ahead of the moment and ▓██▌ ████▄ ▄█▌
▀ ▀▀███▄ ▄▓▓█▓▌ aware of the issues would be an ▐▓█▓▓▄ ▀███████▀
