Collen & Webb take on soul classics from the Motown catalog and
give 'em an unexpected GAMM twist (that's why this one's on
"MoGamm", get it?) First up Diana Ross' disco hit "Upside Down,"
gets totally reworked into "Downside Up(1)" going a complete 180
into fiery latin breaks territory. They really chop that acapella
properly too, and about halfway through C&W go the extra mile and
add a classic ODB (yup Ol' Dirty!) verse to take the party over the
top. Next up, Marvin's "Got To Give It Up" strangely gets redubbed
"Straight Gay (2)" taking another unsuspecting turn as it goes
completely reggae! Another surprising blend that works well.
Flipside features a burnin' uptempo soul rework of Stevie's
"Uptight" called "No Wonder(3)" and a lounge jazz version(!) of
Marvin's "Let's Get It On" entitled "Live at Joe's(4)." Very cool
and surprising flips on obvious Motown classics.
