Release Notes:
Shakaya are Simone and Naomi, two girls from Cairns who met while
attending a ATSIC (Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Commission)
Music Course and formed their band Shakaya. Shakaya burst onto
the Australian music charts in 2002 with their ARIA top 5 debut
album, featuring two Top 10 singles "Stop Calling Me" and
"Cinderella" and their chart success scored them tours with
international acts like DestinyÆs Child, Usher, Kylie Minogue and
Ja Rule.
Are You Ready is the first single from the girlÆs new album and
is a high-spirited ode to a girls night out on the town. The
songÆs pedigree comes from the MadNotes production team (best
known for their work with Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake) who
wrote and produced the single and flew all the way to Cairns to
record it.
