█░ point is the debut release from LA's Books On Tape, a ░█
█░ moniker used by Todd Books to release his eclectic mix of ░█
█░ 'beatpunk.' Raised on punk rock and hip-hop, Todd began ░█
█░ crafting his DIY electronica in the 90s using sequencers, ░█
█░ drum machines and effects units. The goal was not to be ░█
█░ beat-centric, but to simply 'lay down the rock,' as Book ░█
█░ admits that he often looks to the Pixies and Pavement for ░█
█░ inspiration more often than John Cage or Aphex Twin. Until ░█
█░ now, BOT released their music on mp3-only labels (with the ░█
█░ exception of their contributions to the Faint remix record) ░█
█░ and the album was recorded live without any editing or ░█
█░ altercation thereafter. While part of the emerging ░█
█░ indie-electronic scene, BOT offers up remnants of punk, pop, ░█
█░ jazz, hip-hop, and IDM aesthetics throughout ░█
