    █ █                this guy. While he has done a few        █ █
    █ █                straight dramatic scores of note (the    █ █
    █ █                original Scent of a Woman, La Nuit des   █ █
    █ █                Varennes), Trovajoli remains most fondly █ █
    █ █                remembered for what could best be        █ █
    █ █                described as the closest thing to        █ █
    █ █                Italian blaxploitation music - or at     █ █
    █ █                least the closest thing to Lalo          █ █
    █ █                Schifrin. If you doubt it, just take a   █ █
    █ █                listen to Sessomatto (How Funny Can Sex  █ █
    █ █                Be?), Blazing Magnum, and The Fuller     █ █
    █ █                Report. Like many Italian composers, he  █ █
    █ █                started out doing muscleman fantasy      █ █
    █ █                films (Bava's Hercules in the Haunted    █ █
    █ █                World, Mole Men vs. the Son of           █ █
    █ █                Hercules), but his skills for tweaking   █ █
    █ █                modern musical sensibilities soon        █ █
    █ █                emerged in the late '60's and made him   █ █
    █ █                something of an underground cult figure. █ █
    █ █                His consistently off-kilter, upbeat tone █ █
    █ █                prevents him from being taken seriously  █ █
    █ █                by a number of critics, but for          █ █
    █ █                devil-may-care music with little regard  █ █
    █ █                for the rules of the old school of film  █ █
    █ █                scoring, this is your man.               █ █
