Radioslave changes tack with a new series of secret dancefloor weapons under his
Cabin Fever alias for Rekids!:
Cabin Fever bring us a double 12" with a proper sleeve for their latest
installment. Perhaps our consistent recommendations have given them a bit more
budget to play around with eh? Anyway, this offering contains tracks by head
honcho Radio Slave and his ultra-deep, tribal style. "DDB" has some extended
conga workouts and pounding, rolling drum tracks. Are you tribal?! I think
Sankey's used to say, "YES!" I say, with this track in hand, ignite the demon
inside you and play really loud. "Morning Song" on side B has some scat vocal
snippets layered over a metallic drum beat. More African vocals drop during the
subtle breakdowns while more percussion is layered up over the every building
dynamics of the track. The tribal vibes continue with "Love Breakdown" which is
perfect for building tension and energy in your DJ sets. A long, drawn out
affair, free from a kick drum and with lots of tribal vocals, it's perfect for
breaking up the relentless barrage of bass and beats that you usually throw at
your crowd. Be subtle, hold back; work them into a frenzy with this then slay
them with some well known banger in the mix. A fine selection of tracks by a man
who, like Jus-Ed, Henrik Schwarz and a lot of the Detroit cats is carving out
his own unique sound with every release he drops.
