░▓██▒░ This six artist sampler features the All Saints ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Records roster, which includes a number of big names ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ that could justifiably be described as old-school ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ambient. ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Jah Wobble starts things out with a couple of ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ alternate versions of tracks from The Inspiration of ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ William Blake -- the love-it-or-hate-it "Tyger Tyger ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ (dub version)" and the evocative "Songs of Innocence ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ (single version)". ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Roger Eno (you know, the other Eno) checks in next ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ with the sweet, gentle, vaguely latter-era-Floydish ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ "The Whole Wide World" and "Swimming," a quietly ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ luxuriant instrumental. ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ The inimitable Harold Budd offers the trademark ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ piano-and-keyboard ambience of "A Sidelong Glance ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ From My Round Nefertiti" and rich, sensual ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ simplicity of "Feral", while Brian Eno contributes ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ the urban "Swanky" (which sounds rather William ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Orbity) and a futuristic fever-dream called ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ "Blissed". ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Kate St. John offers a spare and plaintive rendition ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ of "Coventry Carol" and the new age-cum-Italian ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ instrumental "Notti Senza Amore". ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Biosphere closes the disc with the windblown sci-fi ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ menace of "Sphere of No-Form" and the epic ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ comfort-drone/found vocals called "Kobresia". ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Basically, ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ ░▓██▓░
░▓██▒░ Glitters is Gold offers unremittingly powerful ░▓██▓░
