█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ 1920's by russian physicist Leo Theremin, │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ this musical instrument is the forerunner of │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ our modern day synthesizer. │

█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ The Theremin used in the recording of Rhino's │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Scary Sound Effect album was built in 1929 │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ by RCA. It is completely original to this │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ day and one of about 200 manufactured at that │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ time. │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Owned by Dr Samuel Hoffman, this instrument │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ has quite a illustrious past. Dr Hoffman │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ played it in many famous movies, such as │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Alfred Hitcocks Spellbound and the classic │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Lost Weekend, which won academy awards in │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ 1945, including Best Picture. │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Most often recognized as the eerie sound from │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ the 1950's science fiction movies, Dr Hoffman │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ played his Theremin in The Day The Earth │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Stood Still, The Thing, and It Came From │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ Outer Space, among others. Many baby boomers │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ might also remember Dr Hoffman's appearance │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ on Disney's Mickey Mouse Club in 1956 when he │
█▓▓▓▓▓░░█ ██ │ demonstrated the Theremin to the Mouseketeers │
