   .. About This Release .......................................
   : :
: Advance of the new Explosions in the sky ! :
   : :
   : Enjoy !:) :
   : :
: Expectation is a motherfucker. This time two years ago :
: Explosions In The Sky were a little band from Austin, :
: TX that released a big record that was bound to win :
: over even the most cynical hipsters and skeptics with :
   : its :
   : earnest-but-grandiose blend of emotionally draining :
: drama metal. The only thing that stood in their way was :
   : a :
: national tragedy of universal proportions that would û :
: for a moment at least û stop the entire world. The :
: record was released about a week before September 11, :
: 2001, and after that day it was all anyone could do :
: to not be reminded of what was right in front of them. :
: Due to the unfortunately coincidental artwork depicting :
   : a :
: plane crash and a band moniker that would get them :
: tagged by the FBI for touring with best mates ...and :
   : You :
: Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, the cards were :
: stacked against them. In spite of being pulled from :
: college radio and having several tour dates canceled, :
: the band surged on and have since grown to become :
: one of the biggest instrumental bands in the world. :
: Now, two years later and (knock on wood) no new :
: catastrophes to speak of, all eyes and ears are :
: patiently focused on the band, eagerly awaiting their :
   : next :
: accidental prophecy. And it goes like this: everything :
: we love and take for granted will burn, and then :
: everything will be reborn. :
: Picking up where Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die :
: left off, The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place begins as :
   : a :
: flickering twinkle that soon grows to a blinding light. :
: This new sense of hope is the defining characteristic :
   : of :
: this record, and ultimately the journey that their :
: music takes us on. Immeasurably more dramatic and :
   : dynamic :
: than their last album, The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead :
: Place takes its shape not in the unexpected cacophony :
: that had become the band's trademark, but in the :
: infinitely deeper caverns of the human soul. With a :
   : soft :
: heartbeat-like thump that grows stronger by the minute, :
: the band is now closer than ever to replicating the :
: simple movements that, when strung together, form the :
: unpredictably complex machine that is the human :
: body. Words simply cannot do this the justice that it :
: deserves. It goes so far beyond elementary comparisons :
: to other bands. The answer is somewhere between your :
: head and your heart, and indeed, that is not a cold :
   : dead place. :
   : :
