Slowly warping tones and crackling records say
hola (9:36) ... oblique but dreamily (or perhaps
woozily) so. Soft blurs of tonality writhe, with
barely-there textural sizzles. In case you get too
lulled, a sharper burst of particularly blistered grit
precedes a more-musical interlude (revealing the
record's "original" content?).
Mirage-like, olΘ loops enigmatically, with cyclic
string sections whirring around amongst sludgy
beat-whispers. The track winds down into a slow
whirlpool of granule-speckled thrums. More
spaciously resonating lido (18:22) stews within a
lightly growling realm, though more-caustic
occurrences grow louder, eroding all with a rising
tide of rough boiling aural substances. The
more-musical essences resurface, with rat-a-tat
drumming penetrating the ever-winding vortex.
Vague-as-hell, but so enjoyably surreal... sink into
saule's slurs of quixotica. 37.5 minutes of
nearly-catchy hints of tunefulness and intriguing
textures.
