With a name like N'dambi, you might think this
Soul/R&B singer's from somewhere in Africa or maybe
eastern Europe, but nope. She's actually from Dallas,
Texas, of all places. Yes, the same city that gave us
Erykah Badu. N'dambi, who's a singer-songwriter-
pianist, is about to drop an album called Pink
Elephant on Oct. 6, 2009 via legendary label Stax
Records. According to the label, the album has a
modern sheen to it, but was influenced by classic
R&B/Soul artists like Slave, Heatwave, the Bar-Kays
and Nina Simone. Curious? Well, here's a taste of what
she has to offer, a song called "Can't Hardly Wait,
"about not being able to let a lover go: "I dont know
why I keep f***in' wit you," she sings.
Enjoy!
