Mozart's Simphonies n. 29, 40 and 41 directed by one of the
GREATEST directors EVER: Herbert von Karajan. He succeded in
1955 to Wilhelm Furtwangler in the direction of the Berliner
Philarmoniker, one of the best orchestras of the world. And
does anyone remember the Triple Beethoven's Concert with
David Oistrakh at violin, Richter at piano and Rostropovich at
cello? He was the director of this event, considered a
masterpiece and a milestone of the modern era. And does
anyone remember how he directed his concerts? His eyes were
always closed and he open 'em when the players made errors.
What a man! ;)
He was also famous for his "madness": he took the elycopter
flying-license at 75 years old, at 80 years old he asked a
pro rally driver to teach him driving his new Porsche and he
used to have a sport-car ready to go just after the end of
his performance.
