"I turn backwards to unholy, unspeakable, mysterious night. Far off lies
the world - sunk within a deep grave... in dewdrops I would sink and
mingle with ashes."
- Novalis, 'Hymen an die Nacht'
Collaboration from Derek Rush of Dream Into Dust and Bryin Dall of
Loretta's Doll/4th Sign of the Apocalypse sees a foray into alchemical
excursions that remain the eidolon for the entire album's inspiration.
A hypnotic induction spoken over a pulsing and listless looped refrain
draws the listener into the umbrageous nethers that Of Unknown Origin
shamble. This is no languid drone, however, as samples scar with abrasive
percussion and deceptively layered sine tones create a fuming atmosphere
that leans a little more shy of industrialism or noise than thoughtful and
meditative dark ambient. Not surprisingly guitars feature often and blend
with, at times martial stacatto, squealing like some bedlamite violinist
under yawing resound. Cold winds sussurate ceaselessly as they wend
through filaments and erupt into dormant furnace-chambers where only the
vestigial memory of humankind linger, mocked for their pitiful mewlings
that undercurrent in brief moments throughout. Tribal and esoteric,
Of Unknown Origin delivers a dense sequence of tension and agitation.
The album detracts quality by maintaining a rather lo-fi aspect, at times
analogous to vinyl.
A jewel case release with simple design and bland four-page booklet that
attempts to impress the hermetical elements of the album's concept, track
titles and sound.

MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases
contribute to the growing sale losses of record companies.
Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independant labels
that need sales to survive.
For these reasons we ask you not to distribute this release on public
sites or P2P tools; if more and more receive their music from the net,
artists and labels will have to face even less sells than nowadays.
Please do not consider this release as a substitute to the original, but
only as a way to check out and learn about new music.
We absolutely do not approve of DJs or other individuals that earn
money from pirated music - Don't let them get their hands on it!
By buying the albums you like you disperse the guilt we feel by
releasing this music - Enjoy the music and be fair with the artists!
YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
