│ │ Debbie Deane has great vocals, great composition and great song │ │
│ │ writing abilities. She bring her smooth, jazzy, piano-playing │ │
│ │ music to us through this collection of songs that would make │ │
│ │ any of her contemporaries like Alicia Keyes and Vanessa Carlton │ │
│ │ shake in their boots. │ │
│ │ She keeps it pure and organic. The songs are not pushed to be │ │
│ │ anything more than what they are: great songs about true │ │
│ │ emotion. She keeps it real and it works. │ │

│ │ This is a very smooth and intelligent album. Debbie Deane has │ │
│ │ blended jazz, r&b and folk into a room-filling mixture while │ │
│ │ her lyrics reveal moments from love's yearning for a gentle │ │
│ │ touch, a kind word, a calm surrounding and a child's reassuring │ │
│ │ smile that everything is going to be alright. This is also a │ │
│ │ great blend of composition and musicianship. The music plays as │ │
│ │ well in the background as it does in the foreground. This is │ │
│ │ nothing but a terrific album │ │

│ │ About the Artist: │ │
│ │ When Debbie Deane was 6 years old, her favorite record was │ │
│ │ Carole King1s Tapestry. She grew up listening to Neil Young and │ │
│ │ Joni Mitchell while playing Bach, Chopin and Debussy on the │ │
│ │ piano.s │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she found herself driven to │ │
│ │ explore the fertile ground of music and lyrics. Her older │ │
│ │ brother introduced her to folk, funk, and fusion. She listened │ │
│ │ to all the great divas in the folk, pop and jazz worlds. Music │ │
│ │ was the ultimate refuge. At age 12, she handed in lyrics rather │ │
│ │ than a poem for her first poetry assignment. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ Debbie went on to study English literature at Harvard and music │ │
│ │ at the Berklee College of Music. Her life changed when she took │ │
│ │ a songwriting class with Boston1s renowned teacher Craig │ │
│ │ Najjar. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ Now here we are introducing her first self-titled CD. Piano │ │
│ │ based original pop-soul-jazz-folk . │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ She has been endorsed by the talent of many great musicians who │ │
│ │ have joined her on the record and who perform with her live. │ │
│ │ The great bassist Jeff Andrews produced 6 tracks on the record. │ │
│ │ Those songs feature the rhythm section of Jeff Andrews-bass, │ │
│ │ Brian Blade-drums and Debbie Deane-piano. Joshua Redman plays │ │
│ │ beautifully on 2 tracks. Wayne Krantz graces the record with │ │
│ │ acoustic guitar. Phil Markowitz plays some Hammond B-3 and some │ │
│ │ great keyboard parts. The other half features Debbie with the │ │
│ │ team of Richard Hammond on the bass and Rodney Holmes on drums. │ │
│ │ Debbie Deane plays solo on 2 songs. │ │
│ │ │ │
│ │ Debbie's songs explore love, ambivalence and freedom. Her │ │
│ │ original music possesses a yearning quality combined with a │ │
│ │ unique vocal style that is both soulful and heartfelt. Her │ │
│ │ writing credits include the ballad "Don't Turn Your Head Away" │ │
│ │ recorded on Jennifer Love Hewitt1s Atlantic Records release │ │
│ │ "Let's Go Bang". │ │
