Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess with his debut solo album. More pop than indie.

The Charlatans' frontman - who recorded his new LP with US pop guru Linus of
Hollywood - describes the new project as "a cheer up record".
"I wanted my songs to represent me, my soul and my spirit," he said.
"When I started writing I never thought it would get this far, there were so
many obstacles in the way, but once I got started - I just couldn't stop.
"The album was recorded in Linus' one bedroom flat in Hollywood and if you
listen carefully you may be able to hear the noisy neighbour downstairs blaring
out 80's hard rock.
"I would describe it as a 'cheer you up record', songs of joy and travel with
influences from all of my favourite artists, rolled into my own style. This
album is me, so check it out & turn it up!"

CHARLATANS frontman TIM BURGESS has recruited associates PUFF DADDY, LIL' KIM,
JENNIFER LOPEZ, SNOOP DOGG and BECK to help out on his solo album, NME.COM can
reveal. Burgess, who has been writing his own songs while also working on a new
Charlatans album, releases a single 'I Believe In The Spirit' on August 25.
It's the first track to be lifted from his album 'I Believe', released on
September 8. 'I Believe' was produced by Linus, who's worked with Puff Daddy
and Lil' Kim. The album was mixed by Michael Patterson, who is famous for his
work with J-Lo, Snoop, Beck and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Tim will appear at V2003, and has also announced a small UK tour.
