│ Dubtribe has always been a DIY operation: Sunshine and ││
│ Moonbeam Jones have taken care of everything from organizing ││
│ the parties to creating the music to honing the vibe and ││
│ even creating the graphics. So it's a bit ironic that their ││
│ first full-length wasn't even released on their own label, ││
│ Imperial Dub Recordings, but on a major, Jive/Zomba. ││

│ While this might sound a bit dubious, it's actually ││
│ testament to the power of their efforts. As a mom-and-pop ││
│ team, Dubtribe has been so successful at developing their ││
│ sound and style that they've garnered mainstream attention ││
│ and achieved worldwide distribution. The beauty of it is ││
│ that they were still able to maintain their distinctive ││
│ style. "Bryant Street" was recorded entirely in their San ││
│ Francisco Mission District home studio in 1998. ││
