│ ▓ LITTLE CHILLS is a fantastic record full of Darren trademarks - pop │ ▓
│ ▓ alchemy, lyrical smarts and amazing songwriting. With the help of │ ▓
│ ▓ Bree Van Reyk (drums & vocals), they recorded the bulk of 'Little │ ▓
│ ▓ Chills' in Tuscon, Arizona with Craig Schumacher (Calexico producer). │ ▓
│ ▓ The desert recording allowed Darren the time and space to work on the │ ▓
│ ▓ arrangements and instrumentation with Craig. The deft touches on this │ ▓
│ ▓ recording give the album extra depth. Lots of guests dropped into the │ ▓
│ ▓ studio to add piano, harmonica, strings and bass to the songs. │ ▓

│ ▓ One of the highlights of the album for us is the heartfelt 'I Wish │ ▓
│ ▓ That I Was Beautiful For You', with Darren in mighty fine voice. With │ ▓
│ ▓ its aching refrain of lost opportunity and what might have been, he │ ▓
│ ▓ does the honest without the saccharine. He's at his pop best on │ ▓
│ ▓ 'Unmade Bed' with Doug McCombs from Tortoise on bass complimenting │ ▓
│ ▓ Darren's infectious jangly guitar. The popular live song 'Squash' now │ ▓
│ ▓ gets the full band treatment (we think it's the only sport Darren │ ▓
